Finally a test for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

According to the Daily Mail, scientists at Stanford University have developed a blood test for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. The research is still in its early stages, with the blood test only having been tested on a small sample group, but so far the tests have been 100% successful in diagnosing Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (M.E.), or Chronic Fatigue.

This is a massive step forward in improving diagnosis of the condition.

If the test is equally successful on larger sample sizes, then I hope this will not only help to diagnose chronic fatigue quicker, but also help to distinguish between people who are suffering from fatigue (perhaps due to another condition) and people who are actually suffering from the condition Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, or Myalgic Encephalomyelitis. This will hopefully also stop ignorant people from believing that Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is just tiredness or laziness.
