Mind blowing.
The most action packed episode ever but also incredibly disappointing...
If you have not watched Season 8 Episode 3 yet then stop reading as major spoilers ahead.
I was hooked from the beginning, but like many of you found it hard to follow. It was too dark and the dramatic filming and editing between fights was just too much that it became hard to work out who was who.

Despite this, the battle was epic, and I was looking forward to the showdown with the Knight King that we all knew it was leading to. I was sure that the Knight King would survive and we'd have to wait until next week to see the demise of the Knight King. But he died. Just like that. There was no epic fight (unless you count the very poor attempt by Theon).

I realise Arya's assassin skills were incredible, but it was just over so quickly and seemed too simple. There has to be more to it? What was Bran doing all that time? Did he strike a deal with the Night King without anyone knowing? This is a very popular fan theory, it's possible, but I think fans are just looking for things that aren't there.
My other issue with this episode is the death toll. Now, it's devastating when any of our favourite characters are killed (flash back to when we all thought Jon Snow was dead), but I expected that a battle of such a large scale, especially being in the final season, would result in shock killings of many of the main characters. That's part of what we love about Game of Thrones, isn't it? - The way they can break all the rules and leave us devastated at the lack of happy ending (remember the Red Wedding?). The fact is The Long Night was just a way to rid us of side characters that no one really cared about. I expected at least one leading cast member to be killed off to leave us in a state of shock. We know from next week's trailer that even the dragons survived. This is what we expect of Disney films, all the main characters surviving against the odds, but not Game of Thrones.
Even though I was left disappointed by the latest episode, I still can't wait to see the fallout from the battle next week!
